The Demise of Canada

What a scary thought for 60% of Canadian voters want to
teach the Liberals a lesson so bad, that they are willing to
bring in the Conservatives on a minority or majority and go
down the road to deficit because of emotional reasons.
Should a mandate be given to the Conservatives we would be
going back to the dark Mulroney years of back to back
deficits.
-Today 60% of Canadian voters, have very short memory, or
are completely in serious denial on the history of Canadian
politics during the Brian Mulroney Progressive
Conservative's long nine miserable years in office.
-Steven Harper's thinking is a carbon copy of lying
Mulroney's thinking, "promise the moon, and tax them to
death, to pay for the moon", nothing but a hollow platform.
-Harper campaigning on the last stretch notably saying "he
intends to boost the defence spending enough for the world
to take notice", what a troublesome stupid statement, spend
money he doesn't have, so the world can take notice that he
is banking on the weak emotional voter while investing big
on the military is a useless exercise being we are
neighbours with a Super Power and spending big on guns and
bombs is neither necessary or prudent.
-The Liberals, yes they have demonstrated obnoxious and
sloppy ethical performance during their time in office, but
the fact remains they have delivered eight consecutive
successful budgets and the economy has been indisputably ten
times better than the one we where suffering and inherited
from the miserable Mulroney years.
-On January 23 2006 should Canadians vote a majority
Conservative Government, Canada will start on a new road to
an out of control federal dept, and as we all know, history
has a tendency in repeating it self..
-Bon Voyage to the 60% of the Canadian voters who choose to
vote with emotion rather than clear understanding of the
math involved between the Liberals and the Conservatives.
Dear Canadian voter be very careful with what you wish for,
history has often repeated it self, so vote with your brain
and not your emotional nose.
Thank You
A concerned Canadian voter.

I could not agree with you more. Stephen Harper will lead
our country to ruin. As an immigrant and a visible minority,
I fear for my continued life of peace in Canada. He is
intolerant (my way or the high-way) with a one-track mind
and cannot work in a team nor can he get consensus on
legislature, therefore he wants to give all the powers to
the provinces. This way he does not have to deal with
getting agreement with all the Provinces. Harper's party is
a true Reform Party/Canadian Alliance Party just painted
over in Conservative blue. As far as foreign policy is
concerned, Harper being the lap-dog of Bush will put all
Canadians and particularly our Peace Keepers and soldiers
abroad, in peril, especially in the Muslim countries.
Why have the media (print, radio and TV) taken such a
positive view on Harper? Are they that stupid that they
cannot see beyond their noses?? Or are they just looking for
some new "meat" to bash??? Perhaps because the Head Offices
of the media giants are in Winnipeg and west of there?
Mr. Martin is paying for the sins of another leader and also
it is so sad to see the Chrétien loyalists, sabotage Mr.
Martin and his campaign. Can some Martin faithful not flood
the radio and TV and Newspaper and show how dangerous Harper
will be for Canada's future?? We have but 4 days to
go!!!!!!!!
Thank you.

Excuse me, but, if you wanted to convince the average joe
guy and gal, I would suggest that you emphasize the last
paragraph of the article Jan. 17th before all the rest of
the stuff. I wasn’t clear to me…….but maybe I’m just plain
stupid.
I’m very opposed to Harper and his ideas. But to read your
article, I found myself saying, well, would that be so bad.
Finally in the last paragraph, I got a glimpse of YES and
WHY it would be so bad.
It seems to me that if media want to make a difference in
how people think, then they have to make it smack of the
point in the first few lines, they have to make it clear to
all levels of education, they have to make it brief . Most
people, I think can’t be bothered if it takes too much time
and isn’t clear.
To me, reasons WHY something need to convince me right off
the bat.
Since I want anybody but Harper, I hope that you can hurry
up and make a strong case to Canadians why. Maybe you could
entitle an article WHY NOT HARPER…here’s why not
Sincerely,
Joan

Election Wishes
Martin, Harper and Layton are flying on the Executive Airbus
to a gathering in British Columbia when Martin turns to
Harper and says, chuckling, "You know, I could throw a $1000
bill out the window right now and make someone
very happy."
Harper shrugs and replies, "Well, I could throw ten $100
billsout the window and make ten people happy."
Not to be outdone, Layton says, "Well I could throw a
hundred $10 bills out the window and make a
hundred people happy."
The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot, "Such
arrogant asses back there. Hell, I could throw all three of
them out the window and make 32 million people happy."

Dear Editor:
I was just wondering if those voters in Ontario have really
thought it through. Stephen Harper may be a perfectly nice
fellow; I have no way of knowing as I haven't really seen
much of him in action. However, Stockwell Day is quite
another matter. I wonder how many Ontarians would be happy
with the former Alliance leader as Minister of Foreign
Affairs (he is after all the Foreign Affaires critic); I'm
sure George Bush and Pat Robertson would be thrilled (Pat
and Stock could have a conversation about dinosaurs they've
known). Perhaps we might even see Ralph Klein as the new
Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. - say goodbye to public
healthcare, as-well-as your gas, oil and water folks.
I was born in Alberta, and have lived here most of my life.
This is where the Alliance, now Conservative party, was born
and a less caring, more nasty, sneering, whining bunch of
Klein-clones you are unlikely to find anywhere ... unless of
course you were unfortunate enough to find yourself
magically transported into an Alberta Conservative Caucus
meeting where only the truly spineless, most willing to
check their brain at the door need apply.
The only issue for me in this whole stupid exercise is the
certain knowledge that if the Conservatives had been in
power when George Bush started his phony war in Iraq, body
bags of many Canadian service people would be a constant
reminder of the stupidity of having elected and trusted a
Conservative government made up largely of disaffected
Alberta good ol' boys.
Ian Patton
... a healthcare professional who got "Ralphed" in the great
moronic Alberta healthcare blood-letting of 1996 - Stockwell
supported that bit of slimy stupidity 100% by the way.

I agree whole-heartedly with your concern and have
forwarded some of your articles to friends of mine. I have
also created a quite anti-harper satirical web site at:
http://www.boris-brothers.com, a sort of alias I use
(I'm one of the Boris Brothers obviously).
You might be interested, and thanks for your efforts. Let's
hope the people wake up and see Harper for what he is.
Cheers,

In my view, it is Stephen Harper who is truly guilty of
corruption. It is he who has spent at least the last two
years trying to corrupt the minds of voters into believing
that all Paul Martin Liberals are and have been involved in
corrupt dealing yet when he is pressed, Harper is unable to
name even one. While Harper accepted the perks and pay of
Opposition Leader he spent his time bearing false witness
against any Liberal, without even a shred of evidence,
instead of working in Parliment to find solutions to
Canada's real problems.
While Harper has had a 'me too' helping hand from Jack
Layton and Jack could be considered a corruptor as well,
Harper is the main corruptor.
Duceppe is a different breed. He says he is out to destroy
Canada and is up front and centre as he goes about trying to
get the job done.
Before voting for Harper, I think a person should consider
what Harper might have done when faced with the disgracefull
sponsorship mess. Would Harper have been as upfront as Paul
Martin was ?. Would Harper have implemented the new checks
and balances which Martin did ? Would Harper implement the
Gomery recomendations as Martin says Martin would ? How
would Harper have treated Mulroney's friend Chuck Guite` ?
If Harper wins this election, who will he select to replace
Chuck Guite` ? Would he keep his fingers crossed that Chuck
stays out of jail and then re-hire him ?
We know who Paul Martin is and what he does in tough
circumstances, but who is Stephen Harper - will the real one
please stand up
Thank you for the opportunity to vent.
Doug Perry,
